Children’s Activity: Emotions Flash Cards

Feelings

So often, children struggle to explain how they feel because, they either:

  • Do not have the vocabulary for the feeling
  • They have the vocabulary, but do not understand what it means

Therefore, spending time exploring feelings, to consider:

  • Their names
  • The way they affect our bodies
  • The thoughts that they are associated with
  • The way that they affect our behaviours
  • Our responses to them
  • The differences between them
  • The similarities between them

Is vital to increasing emotional literacy.

Emotions Flash Cards

So, this week, we are sharing our Emotions Flash Cards, so you can work one on one, or in small groups with children to explore 18 different feelings.
