Join us over 10 months as we explore 21 modules surrounding child and adolescent mental health and coaching.
In this dual accredited and insurable Level 4 Coaching qualification you will develop the skills and knowledge to support children and adolescents to navigate their mental health through a number of different issues. Help them to build their emotional resilience, enhance their understanding of their own minds and emotions and learn to regulate and manage their own mental well-being.
Your qualification will see you complete 21 modules, in a blend of home learning and one face to face session per month, to support you to develop the skills and knowledge to become a child and adolescent mental health coach.
A flexible training approach, you’ll work through a blend of 10 x 1 day face to face training sessions, alongside home learning, combining reading, videos and tutor marked assignments or assessments.

How does it work?
Your course is a blended learning approach. This means that you will have self-study alongside class sessions once a month, with a commitment of around 15-20 hours per month (depending on learning speed). You will complete an assessment for each module, ranging from essays, quizzes and developing therapeutic materials, as well as 60 hours of practice and three case studies at the end of your course.
The Level 4 Diploma is now offered annually as an online course, to complete the course the online class sessions must be attended. If a class is missed this is completed either with the face to face group, or in the next online cohort. This does not prevent certification, but can delay it.
Is the qualification recognised?
Yes. The Level 4 Diploma is accredited and regulated by the ACCPH (Accredited Counsellors, Coaches, Psychotherapists and Hypnotherapists) and the APHP (Association for Professional Hypnosis and Psychotherapy).
This ensures the standards of content and provision of course materials and tutors.
On completion of your qualification, you can register to be regulated by the ACCPH and the APHP and insured through Holistic Insurance to work as a registered child and adolescent coach.

The Level 4 course Early Bird Bonus Discount offer costs £2100 (inc VAT), for any candidates who wish to pay for their course in full of £2100 (inc VAT), by the date shown in the information letter. A non-refundable but transferable Booking fee of £200 will be paid to secure your place, and an invoice for the balance is provided.
Payment Plans are available. These calculate at a booking fee of £200 and 15 payments of £154, payment plans are required to start no less than one week before the course starts. The total balance includes VAT.

Before beginning your application you will need to ensure that you have the following with you:
*Your qualification certificates in electronic form (take a photo of them ready to attach)
*If you do not have a level 3 certificate (NVQ, A-Level, BTEC, EYPS, EYTS, degree or above) you will need to submit your essay at application (see information sheet for details)
*Your booking fee of £200. You will be redirected immediately to allow you to secure your place

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Level 3 certificate or above? – A Level 3 is an A-Level, NVQ level 3, BTEC level 3 or higher (degree, masters etc)
Does my Level 3 need to be in a related subject? – No, we only need to know you are able to study at this level, you can be new to working in mental health.
How much time do I need? – We advise leaving yourself at least 20 hours a month. However this will vary on learning style and speed. All modules build on one another, so you will take time to digest everything.
How are classes completed? – We offer face to face or online options. Classes run 930-430 one Sunday a month. The classes are in four sections of 90 minutes with breaks.
What are the learning materials like? – You receive two manuals which contain all course resources, and allow you to make notes, complete activities and review content. The materials are also online and can use text to talk features to read them to you.
How many children do I need for practice hours? – You need 60 hours of practice from month 6 onwards. This is an average of 10 children.
Is there a timeframe for submission of my work? Yes, students are required to submit their case studies within 6 months from the date of their final coursework submission. Where a student is unable to meet this deadline due to extenuating circumstances, they must complete and submit an Extenuating Circumstances Form for consideration. If the 6-month period has passed and no approved extension is in place, a marking fee of £197 will be charged for assessments submitted outside of this timeframe. Please note that late submission without an approved extension may also delay certification until marking can be completed.
What tutor help do I get? – You have access to your tutors live each month in class, access to a group chat to stay connected to your peers and email access to trainers for questions. You also have two 1:1 mentoring sessions to support you with your personal and professional development.
Do you offer discounts? – There are no discount codes against our qualifications. For those working in charities you can apply for our scholarships. We offer payment plans to spread the cost of courses.
What if I cannot make a class on my course? If you cannot attend a class session within your course dates, you are able to make up the session with another cohort. Plesae be aware that you must submit a classroom variation form to attend an alternative class. In some cases this may delay receiving your certificate as all classes must be complete before your certificate is issued.
Can I work privately afterwards? – Yes, your course allows you to work privately after completion. You can obtain insurance through Holistic Insurance and be self-regulated.
What else does the course contain? – In addition to your studies you have access to THREE Free Masterclasses a year (first come, first served). As well as our Student/Graduate shop which contains bonus materials. You can register for our Directory on completion to advertise your services.
Can you help me set up my business? – Yes, as part of your course you have a free bonus module on business development, as well as our FREE Graduate Marketing Masterclass and you can access 1:1 business coaching if desired.
Therapeutic Coach Certification
Students who are committed to their studies and personal development, have the opportunity to work towards Therapeutic Coach Status Certification through Dandelion Training and Development.
We recognise that our Dandelion Coaches are more than ‘just a coach’ and and offer supportive, therapeutic, early intervention for children, young people and their families.

The Dandelion Student of the Year award was launched at our conference in 2024, celebrating Level 4 students who have been identified by trainers as encompassing the Dandelion Values. Students are chosen based on their unique attributes, and celebrated for their impact on the lives of young people.

Ayesha was awarded the Student of the Year award in 2024. Ayesha was an inspiration and support to both peers throughout the Level 4 course, compassionate, respectful and enthusiastic, she brought energy and kindness to every session. Her assignments were of an incredibly high standard and behind the scenes so many of her peers commented on the support and love that they had received from her.
Sue was awarded the Student of the Year award in 2025. Starting the course being apprehensive about studying and her ability, she ended it brimming full of confidence and skill, moving onto our Level 5 Parent Coach. Sue brought love and laughter to class, and the desire to understand and know more, and a room of peers who all commented on her kindness and care.
Matilde was awarded the Student of the Year award in 2026. Starting a brand new career, and coming to Dandelion with an open mind and so much enthusiasm to embrace her studies. She impressed us with her willingness to set out of her comfort zone, be consistently curious and challenge herself continually going on to set up her own business on completion.
