Self-esteem
Self-esteem refers to understanding and recognising our own value, outside of others. When we have high self-esteem it is a protector for mental health, whilst poor self-esteem makes us more vulnerable. Can you recognise your own worth? value? personality traits? skills and talents?

- Consider what self-esteem is
- Talk with the children about what they recognise as being great about them – consider their personality traits, efforts, interests, hobbies, skills and things that they are proud of
- Extend – Consider that Everyone is Good at Something – this can be traits such as kindness and compassion, to caring for animals to helping their friends, to musical skills, academic abilities or magic talents – think broad and big!
