Children’s Activity: My Heart Checklist

Where our thoughts go…. our feelings flow….

When we get caught up in day to day life, if things are going wrong it can affect the way that we view all other aspects of our worlds. Suddenly, our hyperfocus is on the negative, rather than the balance.

So, this week, we are looking at ‘heart checklists’. A simple way to help us spend time balancing our thoughts and keeping things in perspective. It can be something you complete on a regular basis, like a gratitude diary or jar, to train us to keep things in context.

How to use it:

  1. Download the worksheet here
  2. Print onto card or paper
  3. Collect preferred media (pens, pencils, paints, stickers, sequins etc…)
  4. Encourage children to think carefully about each section, they may need encouragement or ideas to get them started
  5. Allow children time to talk about what they choose to add, you can ask open questions ‘tell me about what you have chosen’ ‘how does that make you feel?’
