Helping children to regulate means that we are supporting them to take control of their minds and feelings, and ground themselves. We have previously shared a wide range of regulation activities, including breathing techniques. This week, we are sharing an activity which is perfect for younger children and can also be adapted for children with additional needs who enjoy focussing on small tasks.
Find it Jars
Find it jars are a great way to focus children’s minds and help them to regulate. By hiding items inside the rice or lentils, children need to turn the bottles to identify them. You can theme them for events or you can create them for children’s special interests. Children can also get involved in creating them.
